Founder of the National Dental Care Day
Dr. Raj Khanuja founded National Dental Care Day (NDCD) to create a simple, powerful tradition in Canadian healthcare:
One chair. One day. One act of compassion.
What started in 2012 at a small Brampton clinic — offering free dentistry to anyone in need, no forms or questions — grew into a nationwide movement. NDCD celebrates dignity-based healthcare, where every October 10, dental professionals across Canada offer care not for profit, but for people.
Dr. Khanuja believes:
“People don’t avoid dental care because they don’t value it — they sacrifice it for their families.”
NDCD restores dignity, one smile at a time.
We envision a Canada where no community is left behind, and every October 10 becomes a day of restored smiles, dignity and hope.

One Chair Can Change a Life.
October 10: When Compassion Becomes a Movement.
National Dental Care Day (NDCD) invites dental offices across Canada to open their doors for one free day of care on October 10, 2025.
Participating clinics offer one of the following services to underserved patients:
🦷 Cleaning
🦷 Filling
🦷 Extraction
It’s your chance to give back—one chair at a time.
🗓️ If October 10 doesn’t work for you, you’re welcome to choose an alternate date of your convenience.
Join dentists, clinics, and changemakers across Canada in building a legacy of care rooted in dignity and driven by service.
